"Containment Is Impossible, Sir..."

"I think they swept the barracks."

These two 32mm scale Gigerian Royal Brood Warriors are produced by "Papsikels Miniatures" and can be downloaded for free as part of a set of STL (Standard Triangle Language) files from their "Patreon" subscription service. Based upon a species of H.R.Giger's infamous deadly aliens, the figures were produced using "Elegoo" Water Washable Resin on a Mars 3 Pro 3D Printer.

Both Xenomorphs were given a double layer of Doom Death Black by "Duncan Rhodes Two Thin Coats" and dry-brushed in Cold Corpse Blue. They were then drenched in Oblivion Black Wash before being (re)dry-brushed with (more) Cold Corpse Blue and (much more lightly) Gravestone Blue. In addition, I splashed the pair of models in "Citadel" Drakenhof Nightshade to help blend all the different blues together.

"Battlefront Miniatures" WIPs - This 7.5cm Tank-Hunter Team is just missing its fourth crewman

Finally, I 'picked out' all the aliens' metal teeth with a combination of Sir Coates Silver and Oblivion Black Wash, and applied a coat of Doom Death Black across their dome-like foreheads. Ordinarily these days, I protect my figures with some "Vallejo" Matt Varnish - which can actually prove to be a bit silky at times. However, for the Xenomorphs' temples I opted to apply some "Citadel" 'Ardcoat (gloss varnish) in order to make the smooth surface appear super-shiny.

Alongside my final submission for the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge (AHPC) I have been steadily working on the 7.5cm Tank-Hunter Platoon I want to field for a game of "Flames Of War" I have planned for next week. Originally, I was going to just field two gun teams for my 50-point D-Day German Beach Defence Grenadier Company. But having recently seen how utterly ineffective my sMG34 Machine-gun Platoon was against my opponent's tanks, I'm now hoping to get three stands completed and swop out the heavy machine-guns.

"Pendraken Miniatures" WIPs - Three of Six Sherman tanks which have been primed, shaded and dry-brushed

Resultantly, I've now sourced and assembled a third Tank-Hunter kit by "Battlefront Miniatures" and already gritted its large base ready for priming. Hopefully, I'll be able to squeeze the team in with the other two before my fast-approaching deadline, as I've now finished all but one of the soldiers staffing my first base, and intend to get the second unit finished within the next few days.

Furthermore, as part of a huge clear-out of long forgotten projects stored in the loft, I stumbled across a bag containing half a dozen 10mm Shermans by "Pendraken Miniatures". These metal models were part of a planned Battle Of The Bulge campaign which never saw fruition. However, as I do still own a significantly sized German and Russian Winter Army in that scale, I thought I'd keep the tanks rather than sell them on "eBay" and simply pigment them up for a quick 'homemade rules' battle involving armoured vehicles in the near future...

More sexi Aliens! I like these poses. very much and you've painted them up to your very nice standard mate.

Always good to see more of your WW2 minis too. Gun teams are a poor matchup vs armour in any rules set!

Cheers Dai. Very happy with the Xenomorphs, and that the AHPC is over for another year too - as it doesn't half drain my mojo by the end. But there again I've painted an absolute ton of figs over its three months.

Hopefully the 7.5mm Tank-Hunter teams will do better than my awful Panzer IVs did the other day. I'm not sure how they could do worse tbh. LOL!!!

Potentially, there's a bit more 10mm armour coming its way to the website as a result of these Shermans. I need to see how they turn out first though, as they're a distraction I definitely don't currently need.

More superb work on the Aliens mate, these are coming out so well!

It's also a pleasure to see you doing "camo" something you always said you hate doing, yet you do it so well, and so 10mm WW2, wow we are spoilt today, I keep thinking I'd like to do some more small scale stuff, but nothing is "grabbing" me at the moment.

Top stuff all round, cheers Roger.

Thanks Roger. I do like Papsikels range of Xenomorphs. They're always great fun to paint.

The camo on the Anti-Tank guns is identical to that used on the helmets of my Panzergrenadiers, and was going to be the pattern on my Panzer IVs too - until I had a moment with all the unsuccessful green spider-web stuff. LOL!!! I will probably use it for Stug Assault Gun Platoon I have planned for my German force's expansion to 75-points.

The Pendraken 10mm was a chance find. But one I thought might make me get out my old Winter WW2 Armies - which is had done. You can really see how models have improved though since these metal Shermans were produced -…

Great looking aliens once again. I think the blue black is outstanding and the glossy head is a good call. It captures the feel of the movie versions very well indeed.

Your anti tank guns teams are looking splendid. I am impressed you have done camo. Looking good.

Baby Sherman tanks! You do like your small scale miniatures don't you?

Cheers Undercoat. I think Duncan's blue paints with the "Citadel" shade work really well together. The first Anti-Tank Team is now finished, just got to finish the basing, and then I'll try to paint the other two together.

The Shermans was a major surprise tbh. I didn't know I had them, but rather than sell them I thought I'd paint them up and start a little Allied Winter force - that way I can do Battle of the Bulge against my German Winter army, or maybe some alternative WW2 Winter 1945 fight against the Soviets..?

More fantastic looking aliens Simon, you must have quite a few now painted ? Good progress on the guns, and hopefully you can have them ready in time to add into your next game. Nice find in the loft, and great that you still can find a use for them, rather than just selling them off.

Thanks Dave. That's five of the blue Xenomorphs finished - which I think is one of each pose, so that'll probably do. Fingers crossed I should get the guns finished in time. I know a bit more about the figures I'm painting now - having done one team - so I should be quicker on these.

Yeah. Whilst I'm sad to see a load of unopened Tomb Kings, Empire and Warmachine boxes go. I'm never now going to paint them, and over time I should clear out quite the space as a result. The Pendraken Shermans though, were a nice find, as I can field them in a small little homemade skirmish against my old Winter Germans (or Winter Soviets)…
